Celebrate The World's First Fully Accessible Sensory Campus

17 December 2024

Located in the heart of Kew, adjacent to the Yarra Trail, Guide Dogs Victoria's historic site has been transforming lives since 1957 as Australia's first Guide Dog school. Now, following an extensive decade-long planning and redevelopment process, their state-of-the-art campus is ready to welcome the community to a new era of support and service.

The innovative facility brings together comprehensive services, including mobility training, low vision support, early childhood programs, occupational therapy, and assistive technology training. Designed in collaboration with those it serves, the campus creates an inclusive environment where individuals, families, and volunteers unite to foster independence and growth. This thoughtfully designed space exemplifies inclusive design, where every element empowers and enables community members of all ages and abilities.

In celebration of this landmark development, Guide Dogs Victoria invites the community to their Community Fair on Saturday, 5 April 2025, from 10am to 2pm. Visitors can enjoy guided tours of the new campus, meet Guide Dogs puppies, and experience a day filled with entertainment, food stalls, and live music. The event celebrates the new facilities and the impact of Guide Dogs Victoria's mission to support people with low vision or blindness in achieving independence and confidence.

The Community Fair will be a day of connection and inspiration, showcasing Guide Dogs Victoria's remarkable work. Early bird tickets are available until 15 January 2025. To secure tickets and join this celebration of community and transformation, visit the Guide Dogs Victoria website.
